Description: This virus-like particle is comprised of the Bundibugyo ebolavirus VP40 Matrix protein. This VLP is non-infectious and non-replicating as it lacks viral genetic material.
Strain History: Bundibugyo ebolavirus emerged as a distinct species of ebolavirus during a 2007 outbreak in western Uganda. The genomic sequence in available in NCBI.

Production: Transfection of VP40 expressing plasmid into human embryonic kidney 293T (HEK 293T) cells. Collected supernatant purified and concentrated by sucrose gradient centrifugation.
